Managing Director, China Iris Worldwide

Jill Smith is Managing Director for Greater China for Iris Worldwide, a global creative and consulting agency.

Jill joined Iris with over 10 years of diverse experience. Having previously worked with start-ups, art agencies and world class brands in the US, Canada and Asia. She has a background in transformation and creative strategy.

Carol Zhou

SVP, Head of Innovation & Investment, Shiseido China

As head of the newly created China Business Innovation & Investment office for Shiseido, Carol is helping to shape the next phase of transformation for the company. By leveraging the dynamic ecosystem and entrepreneurial talents in China, Carol will help to accelerate the implementations of innovations and new business models, to create new beauty business as the next growth driver of the Shiseido group on a global level. Previously, she has held a number of management positions at multinational firms such as Unilever, Burberry, L'Oreal, and Marriott where she has led global strategy & innovation functions across regions and categories.

Carol received her undergraduate degree from New York University's Stern Business School and her MBA from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Brian Tam

Creativity Consultant, Let’s Make Great!

Brian leads corporate innovation teams in China. Since founding Let’s Make Great! in 2013, he has worked with dozens of early-stage teams to systematically develop new products, services and brands.

In addition to regular speeches at conferences like TEDx and PechaKucha, Brian has written over 400 articles on creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship. Furthermore, in 2017 he led the creation of PROTO, a successfully crowd-funded storytelling game to inspire innovators.

Born in New York and proudly raised in New Jersey, Brian came to Shanghai in 2007 to drive the dynamic changes that were starting to take hold. An avid cyclist, he is currently preparing to cross Europe.

Summer Xia

Marketing Manager, Microsoft for Startups Shanghai

Summer Xia is the PR and Marketing Lead at Microsoft for Startups Shanghai and also the host for China Innovation Decoded podcast, a Microsoft for Startups powered podcast introducing the startup ecosystem in China and reveals some behind the scene operations that are driving the local innovation. 
 
Before joining Microsoft for Startups Shanghai, Summer managed Chinaccelerator and MOX’s international presence, worked as a legal analyst at a boutique law firm in New York State and interned at U.S. Senator Angus King’s office in DC. Summer graduated with a BA in Government and Legal Studies from Bowdoin College. In her free time, Summer enjoys playing oboe, cooking and practicing Muay Thai.

Luuk Eliens

Luuk is a business leader and entrepreneur with a demonstrated track-record in innovation and technology across multiple industries and continents. Luuk has vast experience with innovation from inception to product launch and has guided hundreds of startups and corporate clients to growth and investment. On a daily basis, Luuk and his team apply and disseminate knowledge on customer development, lean startup and venture building.

Luuk helped build new ventures in industries including: Enterprise Software, MedTech, New Retail, Automotive and FinTech. Relevant technology areas include Artifical Intelligence, Blockchain, Big Data, Hardware Chipsets (FGPA, Movidius) and AR/VR.

Currenty Luuk leads the Innovation Unit of XNode powered by HighTechXL - A fast growing international and Chinese platform with a mission to build global ventures that make a difference.

Kapil Kane

Director of Innovation at Intel & Co-founder of Ideas2Reality

Kapil is the Director of Innovation at Intel & the Cofounder of Ideas2Reality - an award-winning accelerator that empowers Intel employees and business units to bring their ideas to life.

Prior to Intel, Kapil worked at Apple leading design and engineering on a variety of products ranging from iPod, iPad, MacBook Air all the way to mighty iMac.

Kapil advises and mentors early-stage startups and currently serve on the Leadership Team of Singularity University Shanghai Chapter.

Kapil has been the TEDx speaker for twice and been on a number of media publications. He also regularly shares his experiences with the startup community, academia, corporate executives and governments alike.

Kapil received Masters from Stanford University and Bachelors from National Institute of Technology India, both in Mechanical Engineering & Design.
