“An introduction to financial and operational management of football and its surrounding industry.”

This seminar is the first in a series, and will be delivered by UCFB – the world leader in football business education and its surrounding industries.

Delegates whom attend should be involved in the football and sports industry, whether an operator, supplier, owner, management, academy, coaching, in education or Government stakeholder.

The global game of football inspires passions and emotions like no other business……

But……it is still a business……

For the game to be successful in China for now and in the future, understanding of the fiscal and operating challenges are essential; with decisions being made based on empirical data, and not just based on passion and emotion.

Football is a highly complex and unique industry that has grown organically over the past 150 years to be the largest and most successful sports industry across the world.

The challenges of operating within this unique global business are infinite.

This creates unique challenges to operate efficiently, effectively, and ultimately be a good investment for the owners and stakeholders, with an exciting product for the fan, consumer and the community.

England has led the world over the past 150 years, with many mistakes made and many lessons learned.

China is in the very fortunate position to learn from England and not to repeat the same mistakes, but utilise this experience to create a football industry that is similar enough to engage with the global game on and off the pitch, but also create a football industry that is Chinese in nature rather than purely English.

It is essential for the game to be sustainable and to establish an operating model that is a cultural fit for China, and not to attempt to merely replicate the English model.

During this seminar, delegates will be introduced to the strategies that provide the football business, whether Government stakeholders, the club, the media, marketing or stadium operators to build and develop a business model that will drive a sustainable and profitable business for all.

Case studies will be discussed to understand best practice, but also to understand mistakes made.

In addition, examples will be delivered of how to maximise revenue from numerous revenue streams and to provide the unique marketing platform that only football provides.
