The British Chamber Shanghai Advanced Engineering & Manufacturing (AE&M) Focus Group’s first quarter meeting will be held on Thursday, 28 February from 8:00am until 10:30am to discuss ‘HealthSafety and Environment Regulation Updates’.  This time, we are inviting Seong Jeon, Partner  at ERM China to introduce Soil Pollution Prevention and Control Law in China, followed by a roundtable discussion, which will be convened under strict Chatham House rules to facilitate open discussion and encourage the establishing of a supportive network of British companies. After the discussion, Boria Jiang, Managing Director Asia at Morgan will guide us to a plant tour in Morgan Advanced Materials.

Speaker Introduction

Seong Jeon

Partner, ERM

Seong Jeon is the ERM Greater China Partner for the Contaminated Site Management practice since late 2018.  Seong is a seasoned environmental and management professional with over 25 years of experience in environmental planning, design, environmental site assessment, site characterisation, corrective action design and implementation, and site closure.  Seong successfully managed projects for federal facilities, commercial and industrial sites throughout the United States from 1991 to 2013.  Seong moved to China in 2013 to continue his career in the environmental sector, and has also managed complex commercial, technical/environmental, and financial due diligence as part of investment advisory projects for water supply, wastewater treatment, hazardous/solid waste management, and other public and industrial utilities asset acquisition programmes in China. 

Seong is also highly experienced in project preparation and management, feasibility studies, design review and advisory, construction management, plant testing, and other infrastructure projects throughout China supported by the private sector via BOT/TOT/BT framework, as well as projects financed by public funds such as the World Bank and the Asia Development Bank for projects in Asia.
