Financial Services
Mission Statement
The Financial & Professional Services Committee, as part of the British Chamber of Commerce Shanghai, will provide the members of the Chamber with a range of events covering business environment, financial regulation, economic updates, investment opportunities, networking and social events with a focus on the financial and professional services sectors. We also encourage high profile industry leaders in our sector to brief our members on the latest developments both in the UK and in China. The Committee thereby provides a core of expertise on the banking, finance, regulatory and insurance sectors in Shanghai and China.
We promote the services that UK-based financial and related services industries could offer to Chinese public and private sectors and facilitate business development in China by UK-based financial and related institutions. The Committee also will coordinate and promote joint events with other committees within the Chamber in order to broaden its scope and provide the best service levels to our members.
The committee comprises 14 members and we seek to have diversified membership representing different sectors within financial services. Members are expected to dedicate time, expertise and enthusiasm in order to support the work of the Committee and the events that we arrange and should attend a minimum of 50% of the committee meetings in any one 12 month period.
Subject to vacancies arising, members may apply to join the Committee. The Committee will consider any application taking into account support and attendance of Committee events over the past year together with the personal qualities and enthusiasm that a proposed member would bring to the group.
