Whether drawn by the chance to network with peers, the promise of an affordable open bar, or both, Shanghai's young professionals flocked to Thursday night's **Young Business Leaders (YBL) Mixer**. Held at the [**CBRE**](http://www.cbre.com.cn) office, the event, organised by the **British and [Swedish](http://www.swedishchamber.com.cn/) chambers**, saw 106 people make their way through the carded entrance of Wheelock Square to mix and mingle.

Amidst the sea of suits and smiles, glasses clinked and cards swapped hands. Executive Committee member and chair of the Chamber's YBL focus group, Henry Gill, was impressed by the turnout, which included members of the British, Swedish, [Danish](http://www.dccc-shanghai.com/), Norwegian and [Swiss](http://www.swisscham.org/sha/) chambers.

"As young professionals, we're here to network, but also to learn from each other," he said on the night. Gill also invited those present to attend the next upcoming YBL event, "Setting Up an International Brand in China," with CEO Asia of Costa Coffee Paul Smith on May 10.

The Chamber would like to extend a thanks to CBRE for hosting the event and providing the catering, as well as [Absolut Vodka](http://www.absolut.com) for supplying, well, the vodka and [Just Beer](http://justbeer.cn) for just the beer.
