Call for Comments: Optimisation of the Business Environment Regulations

Published on 2019-08-06

On 31 July 2019, the British chambers of commerce attended a meeting with the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) to present their opinion on the Optimisation of the Business Environment Regulations.

We have been invited to submit more detailed written comments on the regulations and are reaching out to its member companies to solicit their views on and concerns about the measures.

The draft law focuses on the improvement of the business environment for all market players in China. It covers a range of areas that affect British business and were raised by members in our Sentiment Survey and Position Paper, such as transparency of regulatory processes, ease of obtaining business licences, IP protection, public procurement and government accountability.

Your views will be anonymously included in our final comments submitted to the NDRC on behalf of British businesses in China, and will have the potential to influence the final iteration of the Optimisation of the Business Environment Regulations.

Please find an official Chinese versionof the draft regulations measures (here for unofficial English translation), as well as a comment template. Please submit your comments to advocacy@britishchamber.cn by Wednesday 7 August, 2019.
