Ray Chisnall is taking on the role as Vice Chair of the British Chamber of Commerce Shanghai.

Due to relocation, last week Alan Hepburn, former BritCham Shanghai Vice Chair, tendered his resignation from the Executive Committee (ExCo). Alan has been a member of the Chamber for nearly 20 years and has served on the ExCo for the last four. We sincerely thank Alan for his commitment to and strategic vision for the Chamber, as well as his support and guidance to the Chamber's business committees and to the secretariat.

Alan commented, “BritCham has been a very rewarding part of my China life. Great content, people and purpose. The year of transition is now behind us, and the runway ahead is clear for higher impact and even greater member engagement."

According to the Chamber's constitution, proposed by the Chair and confirmed by all the other ExCo members, former at-large member Ray Chisnall is taking on the role as Vice Chair. Ray is Regional Director (Asia Pacific) & Country Manager (China) at Gleeds, a world-class independent property and construction consultancy with 130 years’ experience. Since 2018, Ray has been leading the Shanghai Chamber's advocacy work, working closely with BritCham in Beijing. Ray is also Chairman for the British Business Awards 2020 which we opened applications yesterday. We are excited to have Ray join us as our new Vice Chair, please join us in welcoming him to this role.
